ATLANTA, GA. (January 13, 2016) – Winning the Battles in Your Mind, Inc., a nonprofit organization founded in 2008, will host the 4th Annual Saving the Future One Tie at a Time black tie gala on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Cobb Galleria (2 Galleria Parkway Southeast). This single event launches an annual fundraising campaign with a goal to raise over $50K for local families with children living with Sickle Cell Anemia.
Hosted by Radio Personality Rhodell Lewis and Andrea Griggs, “Saving the Future One Tie at a Time,” will acknowledge and honor Shalonda Newell, mother of Tamya, Dontavious and Demontae Newell, with the “Game Changer” Award. She has shown tremendous courage and strength in dealing with her two sons who battle sickle cell disease.
“When the days seem long and dim Winning the Battles won’t give up,” said Aretha Cleveland, Founder of Winning the Battles in Your Mind. “We will continue to come together, changing the game and striving to make a difference in the lives of families with children battling blood disorders.”
As always, the fundraising gala wouldn’t be so without great entertainment. Metro Atlanta families can purchase a ticket and receive a delectable three-course meal, spectacular fashion show featuring styles from Tijuana Faison, owner of Design Faze, as well as a youth fashion show featuring children ages 6 to 19 who are battling sickle cell anemia, silent auction and more. Red Carpet will be hosted by Radio Personality and Author Heidi Fuller, from the Heidi Fuller Show.
Christian Comedian Chinnitta “Chocolate” Morris, best known for her appearance on Def Comedy Jam and STARZ and Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand Up, will spread laughter for the evening, Saxophonist, Mr. Avery Dixon, will perform musical hits and the Norton Park Dancers will return for an outstanding dance presentation. Be The Match will host on-site free and easy swab donor testing for all ticket holders. Mingling and dancing will follow the program with DJ A.D. from Power 107.1 based in Macon, GA.
