Warrior On The Rise Scholarship Program

Sickle Cell Disease takes a lot from warrior families.
The ability to go to college should not be one of them.

The objective of our Warrior On The Rise Scholarship Program is to support Sickle Cell Disease patients and their families in the United States. The program gives warriors and their family members the opportunity to continue their education and pursue their college dreams.

Ten $1,000 academic scholarships will be awarded for the upcoming academic year.

WHO WE ARE

The mission of the MTS Sickle Cell Foundation is to increase the public’s awareness of sickle cell anemia by supporting awareness, education and research pertaining to sickle cell anemia as well as providing support to families affected by this life threatening disease.

Your donation dollars help to:

Raise awareness of Sickle Cell Disease
Provide financial support to families impacted by Sickle Cell Disease
Provide Sickle Cell awareness information to the general public
Send sickle cell patients to a week-long sickle cell camp.
Provide parking passes and food vouchers for sickle cell families.
Engage local, national and international partners to complement services we provide.
Mobilize communities through awareness events and exchanges.

Georgia Public Libraries

Sickle Cell Awareness Initiative

Georgia has about 14,000 residents with Sickle Cell Disease, making the state one of the top five in the United States for the number of people living with the disease. Public libraries are a great place to reach a diverse population with public health information.

To support awareness efforts in Georgia, MTS Sickle Cell Foundation, in collaboration with the Georgia Sickle Cell Data Collection Program at Georgia State University, are proud to partner with the Georgia Public Library Service (GPLS) to help raise awareness surrounding Sickle Cell Disease and Sickle Cell Trait through the 409 public library facilities across Georgia, with the potential of reaching up to 10.8 million library card holders.
