The MTS Sickle Cell Foundation’s SickleCare Patient Assistance Program (SickleCare PAP) is designed to help reduce non-clinical barriers that may prevent individuals living with sickle cell disease from participating in clinical research.
SickleCare PAP provides supportive services such as transportation assistance, lodging support, meal support, and caregiver-related travel assistance, when applicable and based on available funding.
Important Notice: MTS Sickle Cell Foundation is not a clinical research site, sponsor, or medical provider. We do not provide medical advice and do not participate in determining clinical trial eligibility, enrollment decisions, or study outcomes.
Privacy & PHI Statement – To protect participant privacy and ensure compliance with research regulations, MTS Sickle Cell Foundation does not request Protected Health Information (PHI) from clinical trial sites. Research sites may submit a referral confirmation after obtaining participant permission, and participants must complete an intake form directly with MTS Sickle Cell Foundation to request assistance.

How the Process Works:
Research Site Referral Confirmation: A study site representative confirms that the participant has provided permission to be referred to SickleCare PAP.
Participant Intake Form: The participant (or caregiver) submits their request directly to MTS Sickle Cell Foundation.
Support Coordination: Our team reviews the request and, if eligible and funding is available, coordinates assistance to help reduce barriers to participation.

Thank you for your interest in referring a clinical trial participant to the SickleCare Patient Assistance Program (SickleCare PAP).
The MTS Sickle Cell Foundation is committed to reducing non-clinical barriers that may prevent individuals living with sickle cell disease from participating in research. Through this program, participants may be considered for support such as transportation assistance, lodging support, meals reimbursement, parking assistance, caregiver-related travel support, childcare assistance, and other special accommodations (based on eligibility and available funding).
Important Notes for Research Sites
Participant permission is required before submitting this referral confirmation form.
To protect participant privacy and ensure compliance, please do not submit any Protected Health Information (PHI), including date of birth, medical record number, diagnosis details, or clinical notes.
MTS Sickle Cell Foundation is not a research site or sponsor and does not influence clinical trial eligibility or enrollment decisions.
After this form is submitted, the participant (or caregiver) must complete a separate Participant Intake Form directly with MTS Sickle Cell Foundation in order for assistance to be reviewed and coordinated.
Advance Notice Requirement
Participants must submit coordination requests at least 5–7 business days before their scheduled visit. Please submit this referral confirmation in advance to help prevent delays.
