COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER Program

Bridging the Gap in Sickle Cell Care

We are conducting a research study to build on our understanding of the role community health workers play in the evidence-based management of Sickle Cell Disease.

Our 2023 Funding Partner for this research is The GBT Foundation.

Our 2022 Funding Partner for this research grant is UnitedHealthcare.

Description of Study:

The study takes place over 6 months. You will be asked to complete two surveys, one at the beginning of the study and one at the end, to assess management of your Sickle Cell Disease and your satisfaction of services related to SCD. Participation is voluntary and there is no cost associated for participation in this study.

Thank you to Olivia Wamack and the WJBF-TV Augusta’s The Dish for having our Founder Mapillar Dahn and the CEO of UnitedHealthcare Community Plan, Michael Minor, on her show to discuss MTS Sickle Cell Foundation’s partnership with UnitedHealthcare.
