September is national sickle cell awareness month

September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month, a time to recognize the perseverance of patients living with sickle cell disease (SCD) and to recommit ourselves to improving the quality of life and health outcomes for all individuals living with SCD. Read President Joe Biden’s Proclamation on National Sickle Cell Awareness Month 2022 to learn how federal agencies are working to put an end to SCD.

Also below is a press release from Congressman Danny Davis (D-IL-07), a fierce champion of Sickle Cell Disease,  who introduced H. Res. 1330 in the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday, September 2, 2022. This recognition of the importance of addressing sickle cell disease was a collaborative action of Congressman Davis and the co-chairs of the Congressional Sickle Cell Disease Caucus, Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX-26), Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA-13), and Congressman Burgess Owens (R-UT-04)

WE THANK THEM ALL!!!
